What Music Lit is

Music Lit creates a public tip page for your band or act — a single QR code that shows every payment method you accept. When someone in the crowd scans it and chooses how to tip, they go directly to that app (Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, a Bitcoin wallet, or Nostr). The money flows between them and you.

Who can use Music Lit

• You must be 18 or older.
• You must be located in the United States (this version is US-only).
• You must be the actual performer or act named in your tip page — one account per performer or group.
• The payment handles you add must be your own — no impersonating other acts.

Your account

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you think your account has been compromised, contact us right away at [email protected].

When you create your account, Music Lit generates a Nostr identity (keypair) for you. Your public key identifies your Music Lit presence on the Nostr network. Your private key is stored encrypted — you own it, and you can export it anytime from your account settings.

You can also sign up using a Nostr keypair you already own. On that path, no email address is collected and Music Lit never holds your private key — your keypair stays on your device, and proving you own it is all that’s needed to sign in.

Your tip page

Your tip page is public. Anyone with the URL or QR code can see your band name and the payment rails you’ve added. That’s by design — the whole point is for the room to be able to find you.

You’re responsible for the accuracy of the handles you list. If your Cash App username changes, update it in your settings — Music Lit has no way to know what changed in an external app.

What you can’t do

A few things that would get your account removed:

• Creating a tip page that impersonates another act.
• Using Music Lit to collect money for anything other than live music tips.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service in a way that affects other users.
• Using the service from outside the United States.

Service availability

We aim to keep Music Lit available when you need it — especially during a show. We’re a small operation and can’t guarantee 100% uptime. We’ll communicate planned maintenance through the service itself.

Closing your account

You can close your account at any time by emailing [email protected]. We’ll remove your tip page and your data within 14 days.

We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, with notice wherever possible.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state of Texas, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

Changes to these terms

If we make significant changes, we’ll notify you by email and update the effective date above. Continued use of the service after that date means you’ve accepted the updated terms.
