Who we are

Music Lit is a product of Kriger Danes LLC, a US company. We build tools for performing musicians. Music Lit gives you one QR code that lets the people in the room tip you through whatever app they already have — Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, Bitcoin Lightning, or Nostr. We do not handle any money ourselves.

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run your tip page:

  • Your email address — to verify your account and send password reset links.
  • Your band or artist name and a public URL handle (your slug, like m.usicl.it/your-band).
  • Payment handles you add — like your Cash App username or Venmo username. These are displayed on your public tip page so people in the room know how to reach you. We don’t have access to those accounts.
  • A Nostr identity — when you sign up with email, Music Lit generates a Nostr keypair for you. Your public key is shared openly (that’s how Nostr works). Your private key is stored encrypted on our servers — you can export it anytime from your account settings. We use it on your behalf to send Nostr Zap receipts when the crowd tips you via Nostr. If you sign up using a Nostr keypair you already own, no email is collected and we never hold your private key — your public key is all we store on that path.
  • A Lightning address — if you connect one. This is optional.

We do not collect payment amounts, tipper identities, IP addresses, or device fingerprints. The tap-through log that powers your analytics records only that someone tapped a rail on your page — nothing about who did it or what happened after.

We never touch your money

When someone scans your QR code and taps a tip rail, they go directly to that app — Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, their Bitcoin wallet, or Nostr. Music Lit is the directory, not the pipe. We never see amounts, we never hold funds, and we are not a payment processor or financial institution. Tips go straight from the person tipping to you.

Analytics

We use Umami, a cookieless analytics tool. It counts page views and rail tap-throughs so you can see how your tip page is performing. Umami does not set cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect any personally identifiable information. There is nothing to opt out of.

Third-party services

We send transactional email (account verification, password reset) through a third-party email delivery service. They receive your email address for the purpose of delivering that email and nothing else. We don’t share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third parties.

Your data and how to delete it

You own your data. You can export your Nostr private key anytime from your account settings — it belongs to you and you should have a copy of it.

To delete your account and all associated data, email us at [email protected]. We will remove your account within 14 days. Tap-through analytics are anonymized and not tied to your account after deletion.
